About This Project

The traditional architecture of the villa was reflected in the selection of tiles and furniture within the new Bathroom, Separate Toilet, Laundry and Kitchen. The combination of tile, colour and pattern presented as a traditional space reminiscent of the early 1900’s. Additional modern elements such as the heated ladder rail, under floor heating , and frameless glass shower gave a contemporary twist, and made for a more functional space. The chrome claw foot bath looks amazing on the patterned floor tiles in grey, black, and white.

A classical, crisp and contrasting Black and white colour scheme was used throughout. Off the shelf and bespoke furniture and fittings are of a traditional design. The budget wouldn’t stretch to more ornate tapware, or decorative cornices and the like, so a contemporary twist was consciously incorporated via simple clean lines and square-stopped ceiling junction.

A wall was put up within the combined bathroom and laundry to create a dedicated laundry room.
The bespoke laundry cabinets included a hang rail to drip dry clothes between overhead cupboards, a tall unit for mops, brooms, and vacuum cleaner, and an open space for the laundry hamper.
The cabinets had the same shaker style faces; the bench the same marble engineered stone, and the splashback had the same beveled edge white gloss subway tile.
