Our clients are not only the purpose of our work; they are the unique and integral ingredient that defines the direction and the style of the design. They give the design reason, and they provide the true measure of the design’s success.
By working together with our clients toward a clear and common goal and by acknowledging the strengths that all parties bring to the table, we have created some amazing spaces. We measure our success, not only by the end result but by the experience our clients have had along the way.
“Nicole and Paul Wood have been the designers at two of my spas that I have had built over the last 12 years. The work they were contracted to do included design, the council consent process, and sourcing finishes and consulting professionals. I found their ability to follow the brief and coming up with solutions to spacial design problems impressive. I have learnt to follow Nicole’s eye for design, and not to second guess her ideas, because she knows exactly what she is doing. I can recommend Nicole and Paul without reservation for design work that may be required at your home or business.”
“I've had the pleasure of utilising the services provided by Spin Design, for a complete project managed package from start (multiple design concepts) and right through to the completion of my bathroom and WC remodel job in 2017. Spin Design made the process incredibly smooth and their communication is top notch, always giving me progress updates and with photos. This review comes quite a few months after the job was complete. This allowed a good amount of time to appreciate the final product, to enjoy the functional and aesthetically driven concepts from design to build and there were no call backs needed. Spin Designs guidance and reassurance (in design, product recommendations etc) and project management execution allowed me peace of mind as I was mostly out of the City during the build stage. The cost was very reasonable and quality of trades people used were skilled in their respective fields from build, installation and finishing presentation of remodel project was very good. Spin Design also took on many misc tasks at my request and you really could not ask for anything more from them, I know I have missed out on all the great things I should say. Spin Design certainly delivered above and beyond and I would have no hesitation in utilising or recommending their services again. Thank you Nicole and Paul.”
“In May 2016 we embarked on a major renovation of our 1948 ex-state house in Auckland including addition of a second storey and completely gutting and redoing the original structure. We’re thrilled with the outcome. In the design phase, Paul and Nicole listened to what we wanted to achieve and provided a perfect balance of doing what we were asking, while drawing on their expertise to suggest changes to our thinking. They were also very patient as we changed our minds a few times on our way to final drawings! They then handled all planning requirements, right down to managing a sensitive issue with a neighbour where we needed their consent. As we needed to move out for the duration and weren’t staying close by, it was a great comfort knowing that Paul and Nicole were on hand to keep an eye on things when we couldn’t. Of course it wasn’t all plain sailing but we have been very impressed with Paul and Nicole’s approach to problem solving. They have operated with huge integrity and have taken ownership of issues when they’ve arisen and made sure they’re put right – sometimes at their expense. Overall we’re very happy with our house and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paul and Nicole to any potential client.”
“Our bathroom and toilet needed an upgrade and we approached a neighbour who is a builder for advice. He recommended Spin Design who had done the design work on a day spa he had just completed. Our whole house also needed redecoration, new carpet and window dressings. Nicole and Paul visited our home and discussed our requirements. They presented their ideas to us as plans along with a story board which set out the paint colours, wall and floor tiles, carpets and blinds. They also suggested ideas how we might develop our home in the future. We are nearing completion of our renovations and are delighted with the outcome. Our 1950’s home is refreshed and modern while recognising its’ period features. Engaging Spin Design was the best decision we made and we have no hesitation in recommending Spin Design for their excellent service and wonderful designs.”
"Nicole understood exactly what we wanted for our kitchen, and she had great suggestions that improved on the ideas we had. She took care of the designs and space planning, she answered all our questions about what needed to be done and how. Nicole co-ordinated the tradespeople and kept us up to date with progress. Nicole was always professional, was easy to work with and gave us the kitchen we wanted. Happy to recommend anytime"
“Paul and Nicole completed the renovation of my first property. I was so pleased with the outcome that I ended up asking them to renovate the next property I purchased. At the time, I had to go for a trip to Europe for around four weeks so I decided to leave everything to Paul. I left him the keys to the house and I did not have any worry as I had full trust in him to sort out everything. After finishing this project, he ended up renovating two of my other properties. I felt really comfortable as both of them knew my style and preference. Paul even went out of his way on so many occasions to help me out with moving houses! I felt that Paul and Nicole were my design and renovation dream team and that I won’t have any second thoughts of asking them to work with me any other properties that I will buy in the future.”
"I’d like to thank you both for being so cooperative and thoughtful during the last 6 months in what turned out to be a marathon for all involved. I’ve had to keep focussed on the end goal and honour my friend as I know Stephanie would have been so grateful and overwhelmed at the renovation of her home. Thanks again Paul and Nicole."
“Paul was my interior designer. My home had not had any work done in over 20 years, so it required remedial work as well as renovation work. He came up with ideas I loved, I came up with some ideas he loved (he had the most ideas by far). We started with a budget. As work progressed I changed some things (and he didn’t even roll his eyes at me, at least not that I noticed), he changed some things… and the end cost was still within the original quote. I thought my changes were going to blow out the cost, so I was very surprised and happy that did not happen. Nicole was also awesome. She helped me with curtains and a sofa. While I chose the curtains (with her encouragement), I was at first unsure of how they were going to be hung… But I love love love the end result. I’m very, very happy with my new home. New fantastic kitchen, new awesome bathroom, polished wooden floors, carpet, insulation, personalised wardrobe, colours that flow throughout, amazing art work. I would totally recommend Paul and Nicole. I now regard them as friends, because they comforted me, encouraged me, helped me and looked after me throughout the stressful process. I couldn’t praise them high enough.”
“We have used Paul and Nicole twice now, on renovation projects in two separate properties. On our initial project Paul gave the most detailed and in depth quote for a bathroom renovation and made it an easy choice to proceed with him for the work. He gave invaluable advice based on his knowledge of products available and the challenges that were likely to be faced with the job. Though it wound up having to be done at a very tricky time of year in order to prepare the house for sale, right before Christmas, it came in on time and on budget. This wouldn’t have happened without Paul fully throwing himself into the job, getting his hands dirty …literally..repeatedly, and marshalling a superhuman effort from the tradesmen involved. It was extraordinary and above and beyond the call of duty. After our first experience we had no hesitation in going straight to Paul and Nicole for our next work which involved a major kitchen overhaul and a partial bathroom renovation. Once again the quotes were well thought through, and though there were additions, obstacles and all sorts in the process, we still came in very close. The combination of Nicole’s interior design vision and Paul’s trade nous and technical knowledge is a winner, and their professionalism was top notch throughout, especially when there were a number of the on-the-spot challenges during the project that required quick thought and action. We would happily recommend Paul and Nicole and are likely to be using them again ourselves in the future.”
“I believe my case is a bit different to the others. Since I was remote my entire home renovation in the other part of the world (Hong Kong). Paul was not only the person to help me manipulate the renovation work, he was also the designer for my home. When I came up with ideas, he had provided his professional knowledge in details for me to judge what could be done and what could not be done. I would say, with different language and being another part of the world, it was a seamless work experience when I worked with Paul. Indeed Nicole was just the correct person to touch up with all other renovation details to make the jobeven more perfect.Ultimately, I feel very comfortable and happy with the renovation, such as new kitchen, new awesome bathroom, perfect wooden floors and personalised wardrobe, colours that combine throughout and amazing art work. Therefore, I would certainly recommend Paul and Nicole in terms of their professional knowledge, reasonable on price and a very responsive partner to help you through a stress free renovation task!”
“Having a baby whilst renovating and moving is a fairly unique experience to have all in one go. (Will try not to do it again.) However, the main thing is that we are now living in our new home, in comfort and everywhere we look, there’re just satisfaction all round.
So, thank you guys so much! Thank you for all your effort and attention with this built and also for being there and pushing through with it. We feel like we haven’t only gained a lovely home, but also a couple of good friends. And we’re looking forward to more fruition work with you guys in the near future.”
